Kara Harvey
Textile Designer
Hi there! I’m Kara — a textile designer with a passion for creating prints that spark joy. I currently design women’s pajamas at Jaclyn Apparel, where I develop artwork that blends comfort, trend awareness, and a touch of personality for major retailers. Before that, I worked in kidswear at The Children’s Place, where I brought playful, colorful, and sometimes joyfully silly ideas to life (yes, I once got to draw wiener dogs in rain boots — and I loved every minute of it).
I began my design education at Savannah College of Art and Design and earned my degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York CIty. With a background in both fine art and textile surface design, I approach textile development with a strong eye for detail, commercial sensibility, and a love for storytelling through pattern.
My experience includes repeat pattern development, print and color direction, trend research, and working closely with cross-functional teams to bring designs from concept to production. I thrive in collaborative environments, love contributing to collections that feel both thoughtful and fun, and am always eager to learn new tools and techniques within textile technology to keep growing as a designer.
Outside of work, I’m constantly collecting inspiration — from swirling foam on riverbanks to windowsills in far-off cities. My personal projects reflect a love of color, texture, and the everyday moments that make life interesting.
Thanks for stopping by! If you have questions, want to collaborate, or just want to talk print design, I’d love to connect.
